First Post

The biggest issue I face when writing is actually starting the process. Once I get rolling there really is no stopping the ideas that I come up with. I've decided to write my first blog on the September 11th attacks since it is the 10 year anniversary of the event.

I heard on the radio that you will always remember where you were and what you were doing when an event like that happens and it holds true for me. I live about 30 minutes outside of the city and many parents and family members of my friends work or live in the city. I was in middle school and we were in a "lock down" and shortly after each class was escorted out to the buses by police officers. No one told us what had happened and when I walked in my house I saw my mom frantically trying to reach my dad who works in new york city. after she finally reached him it was my family felt more grateful for each other and truly blessed that everyone was alright. Our whole community came together to help those who lost loved ones and really brought everyone closer together.

It is still great to see how everyone comes together for the anniversary and shows how grateful they are for the firefighters and police officers as well as random people who were brave enough to help and save as many lives as they could.
